Dear Players and Parents,

Welcome to the 2026 season at the Ajax Junior Football Club.

​

Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another year, we look forward to a strong season of football and a great club experience for players and families.

​

To support the continued growth of girls football at AJAX, we are pleased to offer a special early-bird girls registration fee of $200* (please note the SMJFL affiliation fee of $60 is an additional charge). Places are limited, so we encourage families to register early.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Registration dates

Girls

• Opens: Friday 16 January 2026 at 12:30pm

 

Mixed & Boys

• Opens: Sunday 1 February 2026 at 9:00am

• Closes: Sunday 8 February 2026 at 5:00pm

 

Pre-registration

(U12 Mixed, U13 Mixed, U15 Boys and U16 Boys – eligible to 2025 registered players only)

• Opens: Tuesday 27 January 2026 at 5:00pm

• Closes: Friday 30 January 2026 at 5:00pm

This pre-registration window is available only to players who played in these age groups in 2025.

 

Any registrations received after the pre-registration date may be placed on the waitlist, regardless of whether the player played in 2025.

Registrations are subject to team capacity. Once capacity is reached, registration will close and a waitlist form will be made available on the AJFC website. Waitlist submissions will receive an email confirmation. Late registrations are accepted only at the club’s discretion.

All registrations must be completed via PlayHQ (see link at the bottom of this page).

 

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Fees

The 2026 boys registration fee is $420 (comprising $360 to AJFC plus $60 affiliation fee to SMJFL).

 

The 2026 registration fee has been held at the same level as 2025.

​

The girls early-bird registration fee is $260 ($200 to AJFC plus $60 affiliation fee to SMJFL).

 

Fee assistance

We remain committed to ensuring that all Jewish children have an opportunity to play for the AJFC. Financial assistance is available upon request.

HOW TO REGISTER

New players

If your child has previously registered for another sport (such as Maccabi Basketball or Maccabi Cricket), they may already have a PlayHQ profile and appear when you log in.

For children who are new to competitive football (this does not include Auskick), click “Sign Up” and create a new record, then proceed with registration. If they do not have a PlayHQ profile, select Register new family member or dependant.

Please ensure your details are up to date when registering.

Returning players

If you have registered previously, please use the same email address you used in 2025 so the player keeps their statistics and profile. If your email address has changed, first log in using your old email address, then update it in your profile settings.

​

All players previously registered under the same email address will appear in the Current Member list, allowing you to re-register one or more players.

​

Transfers from another club

If your child has played for another junior club previously, you will require a transfer to play for AJAX. The transfer window opens 1 February 2026.

Training tops

New players: All new registered players (first time registered) receive a free short-sleeve personalised training top upon registration. Please ensure you select the correct size in PlayHQ. The player’s registered surname will be printed on the back.

All players: All registered players in 2026 will receive a free long-sleeve training top. Please ensure you select the correct size in PlayHQ. (These will not be personalised.)

 

Orders

All players are required to pre-order on-field apparel (shorts and socks required).

​

For 2026, only black shorts are required. All apparel must display SMJFL-approved logos. Orders will be available for collection (not delivery) before Round 1 at training. As stock is limited and not reordered mid-season, all apparel must be purchased during the registration period.

Grading and age groups

Players will be placed in age-appropriate teams (age as at 1 January 2026). Exceptions will only be considered upon written request and if team numbers permit.

​

If you have previously been granted an age dispensation to play in a lower or higher age group, you must reapply for it. Approval is not guaranteed for 2026. Please email registration@ajfc.com.au for the application form.

​

Teams in age groups from Under 12 and above will be graded, with Comets being the strongest. If three teams exist, one is designated as Comets, and where possible the other two teams should be of relatively equal ability with consideration given to friendships.

 

PRE-SEASON

Pre-season training begins in March 2026. Registered players will receive training schedules when available, and these will also be published on the club website.

​

Training will be held on either Wednesdays and Thursdays, with efforts to minimise scheduling conflicts with other Maccabi clubs.
