Dear players & parents,

 

Welcome to season 2024. 

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

• Registrations open Thursday February 1st at 9am and close on February 12th at 5pm. All registrations are subject to team capacity and those received after the official closing date are subject to the discretion of the club.

• Registration platform (PlayHQ) - read details below carefully

• Apparel only available from the AJFC online store - https://www.ajaxfootballclub.com.au/shop 

• Any NEW players to the club will receive a free training top. You must select your size when registering.

• Preseason starts in March

• The SMJFL have decided that in 2024 all players will only wear HOME shorts. Therefore, AJAX JFC players will only require BLACK shorts for 2024. 

 

REGISTRATION

 

Dates:

Registrations for the 2024 season will commence on Thursday February 1st and close on Monday February 12th. All registrations are subject to team capacity and those received after the official closing date are subject to the discretion of the club. Once a team's capacity is reached, you will no longer be able to register and be placed on a waiting list. To be placed on the waitlist you will be required to email registration@ajfc.com.au.

 

Fees:

In 2024, despite the continued inflation in hard costs for the club, the Committee has decided to keep fees at $380, however we are removing the multi-player family discount. In 2024 the fee is broken down into two components - $325 from Ajax JFC and a further $55 from the SMJFL.

 

The last few months have been particularly difficult. We are reminded of the importance of AJAX JFC and the need for a Jewish junior football club. We want any Jewish child that wants to play for AJAX JFC to have an equal opportunity to and thus, as with previous years, the club will offer financial assistance for those that require it. If you require financial assistance please contact Elliot Swart at registration@ajfc.com.au - all applications are strictly confidential.

New Players (Only):

If your child has previously registered for another sport (such as Maccabi Basketball or Maccabi Cricket) they will have a PlayHQ profile and appear when you log in. 

 

For children who are new to competitive football (this does not include Auskick), click on “SIGN UP" and create a new record and proceed with your registration. If they do not have a PlayHQ profile, you will need to select Register new family member or dependant.

 

Please ensure your details are up-to-date when registering.

 

Returning Players (Only):

If you have registered previously, ensure you the email address that you previously used to register in 2023 to enable the player to keep their statistics and profile. If your email address has changed you can change it in your profile settings.  

 

All the players in your family previously registered under the same email address will be displayed in the "Current Member" list enabling you to re-register one or all of the players in the same profile. If you have any difficulties or are unsure of what to do, please email registration@ajfc.com.au and forms@ajfc.com.au before continuing.

 

Please ensure your details are up-to-date when registering.

Transferring from Another Club (Only):

If your child has played for another junior club previously you will require a transfer to play for AJAX.  The transfer window opens on February 1, 2024.  If you have any questions please contact our Registrar on registration@ajfc.com.au

 

APPAREL

 

Once again, we are asking all players to pre-order all on-field apparel (Shorts and Socks) from our online store immediately after registration. The online store will be available through our website - https://www.ajaxfootballclub.com.au/shop

 

All players at AJAX are required to have SMJFL approved AJAX shorts (ISC logo) and socks (SMJFL logo). If your child's shorts and socks do not have the required logos on them, new ones must be purchased from the online store. Please check with your child if their current shorts and socks fit and have the required logos on them before registrations close. Players will only need BLACK shorts for 2024.

 

All 2024 players will receive a FREE AJAX JFC training bag.

 

Playing jumpers will be provided by the club and distributed to the players through their Team Manager prior to their first match. The playing jumper is the property of AJAX and therefore needs to be returned to the club at the end of the season or you will incur a fee to replace this jumper. Please note the club does not take number requests. We play for the logo on the front, not the number on the back.

 

The club will only have limited stock available during the season and does not reorder mid-season, so all apparel purchases need to be made during the registration period.

FOOTBALL POLICY

 

Grading and Age Groups

By default, players will be placed in a team in their appropriate age group (based on their age on Jan 1st, 2024). Exceptions will only be considered if numbers permit, upon receipt of a special request via an email to football@ajfc.com.au - this applies to ALL players including those that may have played in older teams in previous years. Age groups from Under 12 and above will be graded.

Pre-Season

Pre-Season training is expected to commence in March - Players need to be registered to train. The exact details will be sent to you shortly.  Training will be on Wednesday and Thursday evenings depending on your team's allocation. We are currently in discussions with other Maccabi clubs to minimise training clashes.

SEASON DATES

Round 1 begins on Sunday 14 April 2024. All season dates can be found here. 

Please note the Jewish schools have different holiday dates in April 2024 than the government schools.

 

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK

In accordance with recent SMJFL guidelines, all parents taking on any match day roles are required to have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).  If you do not have one please register via the link below (there is no cost for volunteers):  https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/individuals/applicants/how-to-apply

Registration Fees for Season 2024
Standard Registration - $380

($325 from Ajax JFC and a further $55 from the SMJFL)
